BlogsFlash SEO Breakthrough?Tue, 07/01/2008 - 15:21 — Jim
Flash files have always been difficult for search engines to crawl and index but apparently Adobe has made significant progress in working with Google and Yahoo. Techcrunch is reporting that, "Adobe has created a special Flash player for the search engines that acts like a virtual user going through each application. It actually goes through the runtime of each Flash application and translates it into something the search engines can understand." We've approached this issue by providing as much relevant textual content as possible with our Flash files including video transcripts. The one main issue this development does not address is deep linking which you can approach with variable as we have with we've this Pioneer Kuro campaign. Bromley and VM Foundry Win Addy AwardWed, 03/05/2008 - 00:10 — Jim
We just found out that a Christmas Card we developed with the leading Hispanic ad agency Bromley Communications won an Addy. The campaign centered around the holiday of Dia de Los Reyes and involved invitations being mailed out in advance and clients coming to the site to choose their favorite 'king' (one of the agency leaders) and select a gift. You can check out a public version of the card/site here. If you are interested, you can check out other awards and peer recognition VM Foundry has recently won here. Nike Women's WidgetMon, 03/03/2008 - 23:48 — JimWe just launched another Nike widget with our colleagues atthe GCI Group. New NFL Combine WidgetFri, 02/22/2008 - 17:14 — Jim
We just launched a new widget for the NFL Combine (to learn more about the NFL Combine click here). We developed this widget with our partners at Clearspring, the leading widget distribution platform. Like all widgets on the Clearspring platform the NFL widget is very viral and easy to track as it spreads around the web. A key to getting any content distribution strategy kick started is a good seeding strategy so we were very excited when we heard that the NFl was going to promote the widget on their home page at NFL.com and their main tools page which has a great overview on widgets. Mtv Asia Widget Serves Content Targeted by User LocationSun, 01/20/2008 - 19:38 — JimDeveloped in Adobe Flex, this MTV Asia video widget serves video and appropriate ad content targeted by the viewer's location. To do this, the widget pulls a feed of content which MTV can update at any time. When you view this widget – on this web page or any other – the widget determines your geographic location by ip address and then checks to see what video content is licensened for distribution in your country. Within a fraction of a second a pre-roll ad is applied to your video and you're presented a custom experience. GCI Group Website Wins #1 in PR Week List for 2007Mon, 12/31/2007 - 22:25 — Jim
PR Week just came out with their Book of Lists for 2007 and in the #1 position in the category "Agency Sites that Awed" is the GCI Group website which we strategized, designed and developed with our good friends at GCI. This was a fun project made even better by having an integrated client/agency team of marketers, designers and developers. This is not all of the widgets we've designed and developed but it is a good cross sampling of 2008.
